Storm drenches Cornwall area; wreaks havoc with roads

The first major precipitation event since Hurricane Irene last year dumped up to 4.5 inches of rain on the Cornwall area in an 18 hour period on May 29, resulted in many flooded roads and washouts. Reading Program Celebrates 150th Anniversary of the Civil War

Vermont Reads is a statewide, one-book community reading program sponsored by The Vermont Humanities Council. This year, the selected book is Paul Fleischman’s Bull Run, a novel published in 1993. This book focuses on the social context of the Civil War, the run-up to the first battle of the war, and its aftermath as well as the battle itself.
