INSECT BLACKLIGHTING NIGHT
Tuesday September 6th, sundown (~7pm)
Swamp Road WMA
On Tuesday, September 6 (sunset, around 7 pm), the Cornwall Conservation Commission is sponsoring an event to introduce people to the insects of Cornwall. Greg Pask, insect neurobiologist, Assistant Professor of Biology at Middlebury College and Cornwall resident, will lead us in an evening of insect adventure! Come out after sundown where we’ll be attracting and observing the local insect population. Moths, beetles, and more will visit our white sheet illuminated by a UV light.
Please do not wear any bug spray, and bring a flashlight or headlamp if you have one.
This is a family-friendly event but will be held outdoors with no bathrooms or shelter.
Parking is somewhat limited, so please carpool when possible. Parking is located off of Swamp Rd 0.6 miles east of the Swamp Rd/Rt 30 intersection in the parking lot on the north side of the road.
